I only use Opticon on Spencer Opal in the making of Triplets. After working the rough to the color bar, into the color. Put a thin coating of it on the opal, place under a light (not LED as it doesn't get warm) about 2 inches above the stone, which is on a paper plate, for 15 minutes. I don't use the hardener at all. I am not sure what type of opal you are wanting to use Opticon on, I have only used it on Spencer.
