hey shiny opal people the parcel below was mined at hans peak field, coober pedy. 162ct rough. shell and crystal. this isn't a sale post, im just seeking a consensus on what people are paying for their rough, per troy oz. and what their rough looks like. its a show and tell post. this also isnt a name and shame post.. so feel free to not share your source of opal.. im not. so anyhow, i was kind of impressed with the cost on this, after traversing all the middlemen traps of the online opal world. $2.30 per ct., aud$370 total.
That is a pretty nice parcel of doublet material and at that price I think you have done quite well. Also great idea for a post. Very good for people to know what a good deal can look like and that they are still out there.
